Well it does make sense . There have been issue of the years where drives have made a bad judgment call and tried it.
This is not a place for large trucks.
And they mean it too

A drive down this road will only add 2 hours to my 17 hour drive back from Shreveport. I think it's a must-do.
Positivley, absolutely!! I live about 40 miles from the "Dragon", and have been through there in cars, work vans, and a Kawasaki Ninja. It is one of the most fun roads you could ever hope for. It's hard to understand 318 curves in 11 miles until you experience it. Some people in cars actually get car sick on that stretch of road. Sticky, clean (no gravel) asphalt, banked turns ( and plenty of them), make for a fun day. Plan on going through, and turning around to do it again. Once you drive it, you'll want to go through it a couple more times. Please be careful! there are several deaths per year on the "Dragon" (mainly motorcycle riders).:)

Thanks for the info DWR, looking forward to it more.
Believe it or not, I enjoyed going through there the most in the work van. Hey, it wasn't my vehicle, it was slow, but I had the tires "chirping" around all of those turns going in, and out of my way to the dam and back. One fact most people don't know about the Dragon is, that TVA owns one of the lanes going through there. I don't know if it's the left or right lane, but if you run it both ways, you are on TVA property half the time.

OK .... about the 3:50 mark that turned into an expensive free ride .... thankfully, it didn't appear that he was hurt .... without knowing how they they were filming, it appeared that he was way over the posted speed limit for most of the ride
