It reminded me of a scene in a thriller movie where the suspect (who we all know didn't do it, but...) keeps telling the investigator he's not psychic. The investigator picks up the top card from a deck and has the suspect guess the color of the card. Wrong. The investigator picks up the next card and has the guy guess. Wrong. 10 times this happens and the not-psychic suspect gets them all wrong. Then the investigator says, "Do you know what the chances of getting all the cards wrong are? About the same as getting them all right."The odds of getting the Powerball are 38 to 1. The odds of one number plus the Powerball are 92 to one. You would think the payout would reflect that, but oh, no.
And that, my children, is how lotterit's make so much money!
You pick 12 numbers out of 24. Here's a link to the lottery website describing the game. How many numbers in the "All Or Nothing" game?

I'm ... confused.I like math games.
12/24 x
11/23 x
...
x 2 = 0.000,000,739,602
1/100,000 = 0.000,001
State's Take = 0.000,000,260,398 or just over a quarter (1/4) BEFORE TAXES!
Nope. Just the jackpot odds.I'm ... confused.![]()
Are you trying to calculate the odds that the web page I gave above are showing at the bottom of the page? Where it says, "Overall Odds are 1 in 4.54"?
