Motorcycles are required by law to have their headlight on all the time, and if one filament burnes out, it automatically switches to the other filament.

Therefore, I assume the Elio must also have this characteristic. It is still a motorcycle and the federal government will probably not classify it as an autocycle until they see Elios in significant numbers on the road and the company appears to be stable. Are they providing for a headlight on/off switch for the future?
I'm pretty sure the Federal legislation that is being passed is classifying three wheelers as "Autocycles" at the Federal level. They won't require the same headlight requirements as motorcycles.

I spoke to Rusty and he stated that the exterior parts (headlights, glass, body panels, hood, etc.) are proprietary to ELIO. It is the parts under the surface that are the common parts (Off the shelf) that are from other cars. He stated that he believes the double wishbone front suspension is from a Honda. He stated that the struts will be setup to carry up to a 500 lbs. load in the ELIO, and there is likely an upgrade for adjustable struts/shocks available. Interesting...

Rusty stated that the P5 should be out about this time next month. Which is about what we were told.

I was told that Elio is at about 80% of the needed funds to start production. They are still shooting for the mid year production. This means that Elio would have to start hiring workers in about 15-20 days to hit the March time frame (first quarter). So keep your eyes on the employee hiring!
