This would require EM raise even more money up front right now as not only would EM need funds to complete the vehicle testing and open the factory they would also have to spend 10's of millions of dollars up front to set up the vehicle distribution network, open and staff the retail storefronts, and conduct a mass marketing campaign as all of that would be needed to sell vehicles to the general public in large enough numbers to make this plan viable.
Under the current plan EM only really needs enough money to complete the vehicle testing and begin building vehicles on the production line. EM does not even need to have the money on hand to pay for the parts required as this bill will likely be due at least 30 days after the parts are delivered by which time a happy reservation holder would have already paid EM the money needed to pay for those parts. As of right now reservation holders currently hold reservations for $280+ million in base vehicle costs alone and EM is not planning to actually make any profit from these vehicles as they will use this money to provide the funds the need for the retail sales plan.
Not only are those of us with reservations being leveraged to find investors but we are paying for EM's expansion into retail sales and providing EM with untold savings in marketing. There is absolutely no way to advertise these unique new vehicles better than having 10's of thousands of them hitting the road and being seen by people all across the country. Whatever EM is giving reservation holders in incentives will be paid pack to EM several times over in the benefits they receive from having us.![]()
It would make sense for Elio to sell to the general public first. They would make $1000 profit for each car sold. For the all- ins they would lose $500 per car sold. They already have the all-ins deposits and would have to honour the $500 bonuses. For 20,000 all-ins at $1000 that would make a difference of $30,000,000.
Exactly! And JB would make a horrible Terminator! Just sayin...Proposed production is estimated 2 Qtr 2016.
The only Ponzi scheme you're involved in is run by Jerry Brown.

I do not believe you bit into any Ponzi scheme. You simply got involved in a plan that turned out bigger than expected. What the story on elio's production, (non-production)? I can't even get a reply in this forum. Did I buy into a ponzi scheme or what?
