Brazil is not the best example. PetroBras is a scam that is literally to export oil for cash and then the government used the ethanol for the people in their own country (which turned out to be a disaster). In the end, it never worked. Thus why Brazil has a massive economic problem. It is truly the 1% that owns the other 99%. Go spend a week there and you'll be convinced.Here's an interesting WIKI article about Brazil's use of ethanol fuel. Brazil has been using ethanol for 40+ years. At one point they had converted a sizable portion of their vehicle fleet to run on E100 (100% Ethanol) produced from sugar cane... Currently the country's fuel is E25 and the auto industry has responded with flex fuel cars appropriate for varying levels of ethanol... Bear in mind that they're pretty much a socialist country where the government controls fuel production, distribution etc...
