with us located a few miles south of you, we are in the same boat .... we'd love to pick ours up at the factory and are trying to figure out the best way to make that happen .... with no clue as to how it will ride, we can't help but wonder about the impact of a ride of that length ....
I have the same problem -- definitely a two-day drive from Cincinnati to Shreveport. And I'll have to pick up the car somewhere, because by Ohio law, they cannot be sold in the state (no manufacturer-owned outlets permitted).

I doubt we will make any decision until we see the terms EM comes up with for delivery .... I seriously doubt that their sales centers will be up and running by the time ours is produced .... really interested in the prospects for home delivery that are being talked about .... my hope is any such deliver would be on some type of trailer, I'd rather be the one to put the mileage on our Elio

haven't gotten one yet .... we are holding off until closer to when it goes into production to get one .... we travel the country about 6 months a years and want to try and arrange to have ours roll of during a time we will be home .... I'd hate like heck to be sitting in South Dakota and have a brand new Elio sitting in our driveway back home

There you go JEBar, go and rent a car hauler trailer, take your rig that you use for pulling the RV and do "good buddy" deals for personalized delivery :thumb:

Nice easy way to pick up a few extra bucks.

the key word is "few" .... I looked into doing just that with delivery of new RV's from the factory to a dealership .... the going rates simply don't pay enough for me to burn up our truck running up and down the road

After they start coming off the assembly line the last thing Elio will want is for them to start stacking up at the factory. I'm sure they will have some way in place to disperse them around the country as soon as possible.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe, like the Chrysler plant that used to be here in Fenton, MO, there's a railway line right on the factory property. Maybe a Google map of the GM plant could clear that up. Anyway, if there is, they could get lots of them all over the country in a hurry.
