Elio should pay US to come and get 'em ... after all, we're their living, breathing, rolling publicity machines! :D
In a sense they are-- Jerome shared with me that EM is trying to connect with a local casino to "comp" E buyers. The plan as previously outlined-
fly-in (that's key) get picked up at the airport.shuttled to Casino,t hen to factory, drive your E back to the Casino, and next morning drive home-- 3 days to take a test drive, settle accounts get temp plate and off ya go!
As discussed the delivery fees are basically not negotiable. i.e. no truckers will take only long hauls while another gobbles shorts. I'll need to be averaged out, including delivery fees at the gate. The problem is easy to see - Live in Seattle pay 2x the delivery fee as someone in Florida?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe, like the Chrysler plant that used to be here in Fenton, MO, there's a railway line right on the factory property. Maybe a Google map of the GM plant could clear that up. Anyway, if there is, they could get lots of them all over the country in a hurry.

The former GM Shreveport Assembly and Stamping Plant was built in 1981 and most recently expanded in 2002. The property also includes a 1.5 million-square-foot paint shop; an on-site powerhouse and wastewater treatment facility; a rail spur; and 530 acres of land.

After they start coming off the assembly line the last thing Elio will want is for them to start stacking up at the factory. I'm sure they will have some way in place to disperse them around the country as soon as possible.
Of course, GM didn't have problems shipping their trucks around while producing more than one per minute. There are several tracks around the plant and I remember hoods coming directly into the building in a box car. The tracks were below floor grade so they could basically just drive forklifts right into the box car. I know there was room for several cars in a row but honestly, I don't remember seeing another set of tracks there.

Google maps show quite a lot of rail spurs headed into the plant. The offering circular also states the following:

The facility is located 2 miles from Interstate 20 and approximately 12 miles from downtown Shreveport. It is serviced by 7 active rail spurs, utilized for delivery of raw material and component supplies to the factory floor, as well as for the loading and rail transport of finished vehicles in the marshaling and shipping yard (to be used by us) at the northern end of the property.
