To install the optional colored panels at the marshaling center, It appears they will have to remove the climate control, which is held on by 4 screws, and then reinstall it. This is a very disproportionately large control.

I guess I'd have to see it in person but to me those controls look to be about the size of the controls in my truck. From experience, I'd think being any smaller would create issues when you have a glove on.

The controls are standard size but they may appear a bit out of scale in the compact Elio cockpit. EM may be able to find something that integrates a bit better into the dash but my guess is that Jeff Miller is correct that the size of the controls can't get much smaller due to considerations for being able to use the controls.

These details are all subject to change as EM works with its suppliers to find what works best in this vehicle. It will be interesting to see the changes as EM works its way through the E-series vehicle development program.

They figure with all the people yelling that they can't see the tach/spedo numbers they need big knobs so the same people can see/utilize them.

This thing really IS just a prototype. Notice how nicked up the dash is under the control knobs and above them, too, and how the paint missed the lower edge of that same plastic piece; I guess they painted it in place, and certainly in a hurry! And yeah, the dash just looks ugly. might want to paint the whole underside and facia of the instrument panel and housing. Like black to reduce glare. Not to mention that AWFUL instrument panel itself.
