Seat Belts

I looked it up once and the issue is that "emergency vehicles" are a different class than "motor vehicles" so the seat belt law doesn't really apply.

It applies. The only difference is they don't have to be at a complete stop before unbuckling. Ambulance riders have the only pass on this one.

Having said this, I only know Colorado laws. That and I had to obey them while driving patrol vehicles.

Most all law enforcement and government insurance carriers have limited coverage on you, if you are not wearing a seat belt in any accident
