What Is Elio Stock Trading For Today?

The 'volume' was quite high today. I guess it is because of the new people hearing about Elio for the first time who work with that motor maker. People just got to hear about the Elio to fall in love. Plus that great article posted yesterday.

Today's volume made sense, but the 30 day daily average volume shouldn't have fallen like it shows from around 8,000 to about 4,000. Something is askew.

What is 'short interest'?

Some people sell stock they do not own and is called selling short. They have to replace that stock and interest is charged for this. I suppose technically they sell borrowed stock with a promise to replace it adding "short" interest.

So now every time I log in I can say "Man, I wish I bought at $12..."

Why would something be askew, volume looks like it goes up since the Zacks article setting a price target of $51 a share? Over what time frame would a price target be?
