Bert sorry to hear that. Are you still turning a wrench or two?

I do, but as recreation, maintenance, and keeping the kiddos safe on the road. I'm looking hard at the "good" motor in the wrecked Neon, but even with a cherry picker I need more than a day.

When I got cold enough I came back inside, swapping parts BACK onto the other/lesser Neon. *sigh*. I looked at a couple of ads for what I had planned to get after the Elio. Prices are high right now! Man I'd like to "talk" to that idiot right now...

Insurance called back. They need to police report in order to proceed with repairs. meanwhile I still have 3 totaled ones in my driveway, blocking the garage I need to open and get the other one out of. The 3rd bay door looks totaled. I'll need to get the van out of it and see just how bad. :( I guess blocking the hole with a rock the size of a van is fairly secure? :/

I've had the old blue truck for a long time. My kids love it more than I do I think?

Wifeys red van was to the left of the green Neon. All were parked in front of a bay door. The truck was to the open area at the right. I took the picture of the truck from about where the back bumper was before it was hit.

BTW, the moron was driving an Intrepid. I have to say it appears to be fairly well built! Who knew it could double as a plow?

You got a heavy truck and a stout chain? I need to pull the van off the Neon. I think the Neon will move on its own after that, enough to put it by the truck. This will give me the opening for the other Neon to come out.

I figured on laying down boards and using my floor jack. The van hasn't been started for a couple of Years, so I'd have to tinker more than a little in this cold weather.

Finding spare body parts for the pickup should be easy, they made that body style forever.
Trick is finding them before they totally rust away. I went through 3 beds on mine, they would constantly rust out around the wheel wells.
The other ones ........ what are they paying for scrap metal these days?

Did the guy that hit them have insurance?

Coss, It looks like he got the frame at the back. The rear bumper is toward the left by about a foot. The framework for the spare underneath is diamond shaped now. It doesn't look good to me.

JBG, I just may take you up on the offer! I'd be happy to do gas n food! Let me see what morning brings. Just had a hot shower and now am icing the foot. Trying to find the silver lining here I guess.

I've been going pretty much since yesterday morning. I think sleep will give me a better view on things.
Good thing I'm off until Weds.
