My concern is folks that might inflate their reservation amount thinking they are sending a message to the powers that be but can't follow through with the actual dollar amount. I know there is no legal obligation to follow through, I can see the possibility of people buying less than they said they would buy. Then what?

that's certainly possible and I would be surprised if it doesn't happen with some folks .... I also tend to believe that the reverse may happen as well .... I know I will make my final decision based on facts I don't have right now

Something like the funding could well play in the government loans. If they are on the fence looking for a reason to make the loans. Interest like that shown in the crowd funding could give them a push. Face it the people making the call on the loan hear what is going on.

I'm guessing Thomas counted the dots, since the count is about right. I didn't dare myself sigh up to 'follow'.
That may be the better way to confirm such things. But we won't know until one of tries that.

There is a elio owners group on facebook too... and they have a guy there that is going through the page source code, copying out the names, and plugging it into excel, which easily counts it for you...

It would appear that in 7 hours 60 people signed up.


Where is the progress bar? Does that mean 8.5mil out of 50mil at max? In just 4days? If that really has that meaning, 30days will see a full bucket.

I'll withhold any excitement about that until we get down the road a bit, or some solid confirmation. At least wait until the first 'update' until we count 'how many eggs they got in their basket'.

We got less new reservations than usual, so either the redirect is having an interference affect, or people are confusing what the actual reservations mean on the initial page. I suppose it's possible some who wanted a Elio reservation are un-knowingly getting an investment reservation.

Anyone who writes books or programs have a context in their mind, and this often doesn't match the context of the reader. It's much easier to confuse things with light handed directions than one might think.

I think there is definatly an interferance effect... I also think its a good thing. Right now elio needs investment money more than new reservations. Money is the main factor controlling the timeline, not engineering, suppliers, or manufacturing.... The reservation number is impressive enough as it is, lets get this assembly line running now!!!!

Im not... My real only worry is how long they are going to give me to scrape the money together... lol Supposedly we are going to get to see how many shares our reservation will buy. I plan on rounding my number of shares to something pretty even, rather than an even dollar amount, but still at around that money level...

i haven't had time to read about it so I'm not sure if this is a reservation for a stock option or a gift. If it's a gift, I'm out, but if this is potentially an opportunity to reserve stock at the ground level for this great new company and amazing idea I might just have to scrape up a few dollars and buy in. I am not one that believes in buying stock from a single company, but this is something I truly believe in and would be willing to take a risk!

That's the first rule of investing, buying stock in a company you believe in, their products or services. If you don't believe in the company, product or service why would you purchase their stock.

If you believe in a startup and help it with money, then the startup should compensate your belief with (perhaps worthless) stock options.

Good Morning. Man o man, NW Portage County is getting hit with the storms. Big one this morning about 6:00 right on top of my house !!! And another one coming in North of us right now. I haven't mowed my grass in weeks !!! But, My thoughts on this crowd funding is exciting and wishful. My last count of people signed up for interest in stocks was over 2,369, yesterday afternoon. Most of the names I don't recognize. I guess that they only heard about elio through this start engine forum or forum like it. Therefore, so far, we have 2,369 more people exposed to elio and might put a reservation down of one or two of them for their personal use, along with their indication of stock interest. It is a win - win for everybody involved. I think we will see a big jump in reservation next week, and every week till July 31st. At that time elio can either take the new contact list and run or follow through with this start engine deal, which will be determined with greater minds than mine. Elio will have to file the paperwork for the government including finance and plans data, which we all will see and digest. Wait for approval, collect the monies from the people who follow through with their intent of purchase of stocks and get the big loan and get the production line going. Right now interest in stocks is more important than reservations. But, they, imo, go hand in hand. Imo, The timing on this is great. August the gov loan application will be a year old. With this stock money elio can prove they are worthy for the loan. We're going to get our vehicles people !!!! And I DON'T see another delay in the 'promised - NOT promised production date, this time next year !!!
