Good concern. I have been thinking about it....If the driver was incapacitated (but not dead), You would need to wait for help to carefully remove the driver. So, the passenger would use the cell phone and call 911.
But, (I am pretty sure) there will be situations that do result in death. :violin:
If the rear passenger could move around freely enough to actually reach his/her phone.

As with any other vehicle!

This is not a change but an add on. Both of our cars have "rain guards" on the windows. This are a great product and I'm surprised more people don't use them. The advantage is that you can leave your windows cracked an inch or two and if it rains no water gets inside. Now, the reason to leave the window cracked is because of heat. We live in south Texas and it gets sweltering sometimes... it's 104 out side right now. Leaving a car in the sun with the windows rolled up tight can cause the temp inside to get to 150 or even higher. This is terrible for the interior vinyl and especially leather, causing it to become brittle and crack. So, even when there is no chance of rain they are still useful. As a bonus they tend to hide the fact that your window are cracked so you don't attract thieves. I hope someone will make these for the Elio, I'll be the first to buy a pair. ;)

Look ok and are probably pretty handy where you live -- but there's a couple of mpg lost at least. How are they for wind noise?

Oh, I know exactly what you mean as I live in South Texas myself. Sun shades on the front window is a must too. I think I will try putting a remote start in mine first so the AC is running before I get in.

I never noticed any... Sorry, but I don't think they would decrease millage by any appreciable amount. And besides, I'll give up a tad if it saves my interior.

That's why they're considered "aftermarket options" Not everyone likes them, so the option market has another item to add to the list.
So we have:
Vent Shades
Car Covers
All Weather mats
Performance add ons
Color changes
Body wraps
Wood grain dash
A very long list of electronics

What else?
