I jumped over to the Fiat USA site and I never knew the Fiat had that many models!

The 2 door, a 4 door, an Electric, a convertible, the Abarth and now they say that they have a 500X Crossover.
Looks like Fiat is adjusting to the US market by building bigger cars.
That 500 and 500L side by side Hooterscoots posted shows the dramatic difference.

I actually ended up buying one of these last year, and i have to admit its a fun car if you're moving just your own lonesome butt. after you add 2 or more passengers it slows down a bit. and I've never used anything but 87 octane and got only 1-2 MPG off what is advertised. though i can't exactly take it off-road :p

I've got over 10K miles on mine now, no complaints (except for the psychotic radio), still getting above 35 mpg combined, I wouldn't pay $20K for one but at $14K I think mine was a good deal. I commute 50+ miles a day and I don't find the ride too harsh, I would actually like to lower the car to improve handling a bit, it feels like a too tall Miata, the short wheelbase makes you want to flick it into corners, but the height makes is lean over a bit too much. It's certainly not the car for everyone, but for me it works just fine.

What are you planning for the 57 up on ramps? Bummer that it's a 4-door, but they're still cool cars if you build them right.

Not really a bummer in my case, first I wouldn't have gotten it for $580 if it was a 2 door, second it's # 438 off the line (a first day car), it's titled as a 1956 Chevy, it has the mirror on the dash (go find another 57 with the mirror on the dash, I dare you). as for what's going on, I did a steering box, motor swap and disc brakes up front, working on bleeding brakes, carb issues, linkage, wiring, exhaust etc.. it's a long term project (very long in my case). It was my first car (got it when I was 14) and I still have it... and all the stories to go with it...

Great deal on it; and I'm sure every old girl like that has stories that could curl your toes.

I'm guessing that will happen with Elio Motors as well. Start with the one basic Elio model and then be forced to expand the Elio Model lineup to increase sales. I can see it now.......an Elio 4 wheeler AWD SUVElio and a 9 passenger van the VElio. The only model I would have serious interest in would be the EVElio.

I hope the single Elio Commuter Model concept is so wildly successful in the USA/Worldwide markets that additional models aren't necessary simply to keep operating costs, parts inventory, and the manufacturing process costs to a minimum.

Better yet, a 5 wheeler; dual axels in the front, one wheel in rear, seats 4-6
But an off road 3 wheeler would be awesome.
And of course if you go to the high side, you have to have a low rider; an Elio 3 wheel, just slammed to an 1" off the ground, chopped roof, and 5000 watts of sound.
