It's hard to concisely write about a financing option that isn't a reality yet for a product that doesn't yet exist in final form, or for reservations for a product that isn't in production and isn't ready to go into production yet... ...much snipage

I get that however this email seems to contradict several things I've read from Elio. I knew there were no official details on the gas X3 option however this email seems to suggest it is dead. If that's true we shouldn't have to learn about it from an individual who happened to share his email with us.

PS It may still be that this was a poorly written email. Which brings me back full circle to "spokesman".

The Target Star Wars toys is a very accurate analogy of what we are experiencing w/Elio and some spokes PEOPLE, also referenced above, not putting words together very well.
It's going to be interesting seeing how all this plays out.

I still feel the intentions are good; plowing through all the paperwork BS (and yes some of it funding paperwork) is the delay for Elio.
Confusing spokes people comments are adding to the frustration.

I simply say "believe in the force, you must". ;)

Elio is pretty much the same, no concrete proof or firm dates, I just believe and I really want my new toy.
The force is strong here Luke..............engine blocks have been spied on kronos 3...... :)

Monty Emery,
We can appreciate your concern and until our credit card/ gas card program is finalize, we are not marketing this program on our website.

I don't know Brendan Cary but the Elio Motors website as of (2) minutes ago is still showing
the same information on the 'Credit/Gas' card financing program they plan to implement
upon rollout..... : http://www.eliomotors.com/?gclid=CN29-uf5_LwCFeJF7AodYHIAcA#about
[Look in 'Elio Store' under Purchasing & Delivering Your Very Own Elio']
Payment Options: This is the Coupe de Gras. Along with the traditional methods of paying for vehicles, we wanted to add something else unique; a credit card payment plan. It will allow you to drive off with your new Elio with no money down. You simply sign an agreement to use the Elio credit card for all of your gas purchases. We, in turn, charge your credit card three times the amount of the fuel (most likely less than what you were paying for fuel on your existing vehicle). The simplicity is the difference. Two-thirds of the bill is your car payment the remaining third of the bill is the original fuel cost.
Let’s give an example: You put $50 worth of fuel in your new Elio. Your credit card will be billed for three times the amount, or $150 due in full. The breakdown is simple; two-thirds ($100) is the Elio payment, one-third ($50) is the fuel. Details on minimums and the like are being worked out with several banking institutions, but the reality is simple. Drive off with a new Elio for no money down and pay for it with the massive fuel savings you have over your existing vehicle!
My reading comprehension is suspect, but the overall gist I've always gotten on this topic is:

Refundable: they promise the money back and there is some kind of legal backing cause it's in escrow (gut tells me this is just less risky, not no risk)
Non-refundable: can it be more clear? You may lose your money if things go bad, if it doesn't, your first in line.
Credit Card: An idea was floated that you may be able to use a credit card where you are charge 3x each time you fill up gas. When things become closer to production, details will emerge.

Asking for any more clarity at this point seems a bit absurd to me. I also see no problem with the Email from Elio other than "afford" to me was meant to say "afford to lose your money to a".

Boy just started a major poop storm on the official EM FB page by asking if the 3X was dead.

It also turns out that the auto trans will cost 200 to 300 more and 500 more and 1000 more. Naturally all of these sources claim their info comes straight from EM.

The 500 source claims the next prototype will have the roof line raised 1.5-2 inches. If that's true that's a pretty radical change it they intend on putting out cars a year from now.

I tend to agree with Craig, nothing has really changed. The Elio is still a dream. It would be different if the car was in production and money was being taken for delivery. Stock has not been sold in Elio, no IPO has been offered. I admit I am only All-In-for-$100, but I am willing to gamble $100 on a great idea whose time has come.

If the "Payment Option" was more than a dream of an option, it would include numbers and 15+ pages of credit card mumbo jumbo. I can't imagine the attacks they be taking from existing car companies who should see this "dream" as a major threat to their bottom lines.

Only if they have to retool. As of today, there is nothing to retool. JMO
