Just an update on our up and coming Meetings. This Saturday, January 16th, NOON at the Elio display, COBO Center, Detroit, MI ... NOON. We'll go out to lunch together and take lots of pictures of ourselves.
We're having a second meeting Saturday, January 23rd at NOON, same deal.

Will somebody tell me if I should pack my wheel chair? How far is it to walk in from the handicap parking area to the entrance? I just have a little trouble with the heart and don't want to over pack or be in for a jog in bad weather. Will it be too crowded in side for the wheel chair? Is there plenty of sitting otherwise? Is this a dress up affair? Should I carry in my sweater? Will I need my winter coat inside the building? Is it mostly carpeted? Fanny pack or purse? Is there coffee?

Who is all going ?????
LillyMay, I don't know your personal mobility situation either, but anytime I hear that someone uses a wheelchair for events, shopping, or air travel I mention the Travelscoot. It would fit in the Elio cargo hold with room to spare:

Not a lot of snow yet here. But yesterday, while out with granddaughter we discovered my 'new' Mercury Grand Marquis has NO traction. Found a button marked traction control and it was a little better. All the roads were wet and the temps fell. Glad we made it home from shopping trip. Good Luck Big Hammer. It is worth the trip.

a few sand bags in the trunk is about all you can do, maybe 4 studded snow tires if they're allowed in your state. This is why I will only drive/own either a all-wheel drive or at the very least a front wheel drive cars, then again you're at mother nature's mercy in some of those god awful med-western ice storms you guys get.

We're over a foot of snow in the last couple days. My son had no school for MLK Day, but he's also taking at Northwestern Michigan College. My wife dropped him off on her way to work, and I got a call soon after-- NMC was closed because of snow.

I'm comfortable driving in it, (I plow snow) so that's not an issue. My Prius has snow/ice tires (studs not allowed in MI) and my Cummins/Dodge 4x4 does well in it too. I have no employees or back-up if I'm gone. Even if we don't get snow, our road will drift shut in a short time with a good breeze and all this loose powder.

I don't need to go, I just want to. If all hell breaks loose in my absence, it will be a trip I won't forget.
