according to Paul, his father wore an Elgin watch .... he incorporated the Elgin design into the dash as a tribute to his father
While unintended, I just realized that Elgin spelled backwards is "Nigle." One letter off for sure, but "Niggle" means:

  1. to spend too much effort on minor detail
  2. to find fault constantly in a petty way : carp <she haggles, she niggles, she wears out our patience — Virginia Woolf>

I am curious to learn if this happens to you quite often. Are you any good at Boggle?

Sigh, 267 votes is roughly 1/2 of 1% of the current reservations. The no votes are closer to 1/3 of 1%. Statistically, this poll is meaningless and certainly provides no real quantitative value that should cause EM to change direction.

So what you're saying is that you don't understand how statistics works.

Got it!

This poll is useless from a statistical standpoint, so anyone using the numbers for anything is wrong.

And as far as glanceability is concerned, a well designed background gradient could make a huge difference there (e.g. Background tapers thicker behind the numbers in proportion with speed).

Actually the poll numbers are an indicator.
About 51,000 reservation holders.
About 3000 of them are on "elioowners.com".
268 bothered to take the poll.
196 were upset enough to vote against it.
6.5% of a small minority of interested people don't like it.

One other item to factor in; the group here has analyzed and picked apart the Elio probably more that the majority of the reservation holders.
Figure we look at items that the majority of people never keep up on; we notice more than most that hold a reservation do.
We all see different things and aspects and are willing to discuss them. Most of the reservation people don't know half as much about it as we do; simply because we spend time on a vehicle that is out in prototype form only.
I wouldn't change a thing about the group we have here; the truly dysfunctional family of supporters. :thumb:

That's very true; we've got it, you want it, this is how it is, take it or leave it.
It's not the ideal situation; and maybe things have matured enough that one of my oldest saying will come into play: "Everything is subject to change".

I will take it as it is; and I will modify it to suit my tastes and style; I have the ability to do that.

I just don't know how the reviews on the E will read once it's been released to the general public.
Hopefully it's not enough of a negative to hurt it overall.

I would at least hope their is an "option" for it to be replaced. I know I'll be one of those that will replace it regardless.
