I was doing some thinking this morning on the treadmill. What type vehicle will the Elio be transported with to dealerships? Modern day trucking uses those contraptions that park the vehicles above or below each other and have tracks for 4 wheels in parallell. Now with the 3 wheeler and the 3rd wheel in the middle, you couldn't use it.

I guess you could get a flat bed and put them side by side one head to foot so the front ends are opposite of each other. I guess the typical flat bed could haul 8 to 10 at a shot, unless they use a high end car hauler and stack top and bottom, then you get 16 to 20 per load.

I'm sure some of you may have ideas on this.

I remember reading something about Paul Elio discussing a special dolly designed to allow the Elio to use a dual ramp system. It was described as a rod that slid into the rear axle and had two wheels that attached to either end. I imagine it looking something like training wheels on a bicycle. Something along those lines would allow them to use a standard dual ramp car delivery trailer.

I'd just fly to Shreveport and pick it up, I have some relatives not far from there :)

Hey elio curious,

Yes, I want to do the factory delivery I read about, so I'll end up flying over from Bama and driving it home from there.
I was just curious (no pun intended) about how he plans on moving them en-mass all over the country.
I saw goofyones' comment about the dolly, and that sounds plausable, just cumbersome and time consuming to add and remove the shipping wheels/dolley.

Or they could use those trucks used for hauling cattle. They have tiers, ramps and are enclosed with the only gapping holes along the sides. Of course they would have to either use new ones or get used ones very, very, very clean or our beautiful Elios will smell like . . . . . hm, uh, (well, you get the picture) LOL :-) Z
