Why Didnt They Make Automatic Standard?

Lol... just read the title again... Why didn't they make the automatic standard? Well, they made the standard automatic (as an option, the standard transmission is automatically actuated making it an Automated Manual transmission). Does that count?
Some of us still look at manual transmissions as 'standards' as in "Can you drive a standard?"

If that's true, great. That was one of my only additions to the basic vehicle.

Everyone has their own driving agenda . I honestly don't think I've ever used Cruise Control in any car . I guess I prefer to drive . I personally can think of dozens of features I would prefer over CC .

Personally, I love cruise control. It is so hard to get decent sleep when you gotta baby that gas pedal all the time.
Seriously though, long straight stretches at constant speed aren't much fun to drive, so locking in the speed to prevent a leg cramp sounds good to me
Although most of the time, when I use CC, it's because I'm either trying to control my impulse to speed or I'm trying to drive more effeciently.As to the automatic vs manual question, from when I first heard of the Elio (around February 2015) I immediately understood that it was a manual, and that an automatic would cost "around $1000" (the answer I got from Elio when I asked on Facebook).

CC has saved me untold thousands in speeding tickets. I hit the road going to work at 3am. When not "running with the herd" on the way home it's easy to go faster than you think you are. My focus is on all the deer feeding along I-44, drunks swerving, and truckers that are in a big hurry and not my speedo [Not the swimwear].
That's my main reason for using CC; one less thing to think about when you're driving.
Plus CC is better for gas mileage.
I dunno, cruise control is sort of like when digital research (drdos) created the "micro computer" and it was so easy to manipulate our computers; but, Microsoft took all that control away from us making that automatic but inaccessible.
So now, I find myself (out on interstate) driving feet flat on the floor, and thumbing up and down, occasionally cancel/resume, running along for Long periods at a time. I (disclaimer) don't recommend this for anyone unless they are the observant type. And now even THAT job is being taken over by the electronic control. My goodness, standard shift (?), You don't even have to be able to park the damn things. Should this have been posted in the geek conversation (rant)?
