I like the look of the P4 but the headlights are too close together. Someone is bound to misjudge the distance of an oncoming Elio particularly in the fog or other limited visibility conditions.
Then you have NEVER seen motorcycles/other vehicles with lights that appeared awkward from a distance at night? How much driving do you really do?

Yes I have. And I have seen people misjudge speed and distance in limited visibility conditions. Up until 2 years ago I delivered commercial signage all across the U.S. and Canada.

One of the many classes I've taken was a physiological testing class. We not only learned about how explosive decompression affects us but also night vision (as it applies to pilots). We also did a big segment in a dark room where they had lights on some kind of pulpy system. The instructor would turn on one of the little red less and then start some motor and ask us which way it was going. Half would say towards us, the other half would say away. When the instructor turned on two leds that were side byside and asked the same question, everyone got it right. It seems that after a few feet, your depth perception doesn't work by triangulation but rather through relational side changes. Things appear to get larger as they approach and lights appear to get further apart as they approach. Jeeps, with their close lights often appear farther away at night when you first see them. Motorcycles are often a victim as they don't have two lights to grow apart. The Elio, with its close lights, will also appear to be further away and it's size will probably contribute to that effect. I fully expect people.to pull out in front of me in my Elio MUCH more than they do when I drive my F-350 crew cab. I agree that a set of fog or driving lights might really cut down on the number of people who pull out in front of you.

Can i have whirly-gig light like on top of the street sweepers?
On a more realistic fanciful note, i would like to have more light(s) than less as an option. I am old, especially my pathetic eyes. A bright dash, bright exterior lights, i am always looking for a bright light so i can see something. I got a friend in the business that would compensate my diminishing eyesight by modifying the EE, but I would much rather just upgrade it at the factory.

The idea that because the headlights are close together would cause people to drive into it is as valid as the person driving is blind because the same could be said of all the motorcycles, and especially the ones with two headlights.
If your eyes are like mine guy, we need all the brightness we ban get. One of the primary reasons I find the Elgin dash so disconcerting is that I simply cannot tell at a glance how fast I am going and I have to study the idiot lights to try and determine which is what. That part I am sure I would eventually get used to, but the speed and tach are just a crime.

OR perhaps even a set of 'running lights', like for the Can-Am:

OR these, fender lights:

Before we continue debating..... From Paul's mouth....The front end WILL be modified. Not because of the headlights, but they will come into play, but because the existing grill is too large and is allowing too much air into the engine compartment and under the car. These changes will be in effect with the P5.

Good point. Now, when will that P5 be shown?.... Hmm... Fox News? Doubtful..
Fox news will be an announcement from Paul as to who the partner will be that has been chosen for service and warranty work. Paul along with representatives from this company will be on the program. In view od the International market that Elio is eying I have a guess. The company I am thinking has over 15,000 service centers worldwide. It would be a good choice. I am probably wrong but we'll find out on Tuesday.
