My favorite is the P1. I have been told the P2 was built on top of it.

The P1 picture shows even more how far EM has come.

Edit: I think they should separate the P2 into two displays. The original P1, which is the most dramatic and interesting, and the P2 body shell and interior.

If you pay careful attention toward the end you will also see a Red and a Creamsicle E series in the background.

In that same video I see other interesting things.

At 0:55 I see a traditional instrument cluster with needles and white legends on a black background. I WANT THIS INSTRUMENT CLUSTER!

At 1:16 I see steel cylinder liners in that engine block.

Oh, and the Creamsicle Elio looks like the P4 to me.

I thought it would be nice to see some snapshots off that video. It gives an idea of the level of activity and size of that shop.
I noticed that there were three sets of panels at the time of this video. So at least three will be completed in rapid succession, what ever rapid means in this case. To see details, click the thumbnails below this first grouped image. To answer a previous question, the E1A is below the green cover, with the P5 and P4 seen behind it. (and just a sliver of the P3 roof)

BTW, you may have noticed before, but I'm only catching it now, they didn't install an Elgin dash cluster in this one, which probably doesn't mean anything other than not having them on hand.

I believe we may have some answers now, as to the nature of the Elio's radio/head unit. Single-din?

Is it too much to hope that someone from DOE's Loans Program Office was there in the audience (or at least patched in somehow via live stream)? It's only a short flight from D.C.

I saw those and didn't make the connection. Good one! Hard to gauge dimensions but I'm guessing that'll fit into a single DIN. The folks at EM aren't stupid; they may have designed the dash with that oval unit in mind for the initial rollout, but I'm sure they also thought about the potential for aftermarket sound systems and head units. So my money is on an underlying standard 1-DIN or 2-DIN format opening for the radio, into which that gray cinder block-looking insert would go.

I have this posted in another thread;
I wrote to EM <again> and asked about the dash in the E-series compared to the P5 instrument cluster; here's what they had to say:

Hello Coss!
Thanks for checking in.
Great eye! The dash you see is a placeholder, as this is not a public vehicle and will be used for testing. However, the electronics and spacing are the same. At this stage, there are no plans to offer an optional dash.
Thanks again!

Best,
The Elio Team

So we get the Elgin only, end of discussion as far as EM is concerned.
Back to the Coss Cluster; I've decided that the gauges in mine will be White Face, Black numbers, black classic style pointer.
As for the other warning lights, they will be dealt with once I have one to work with.
Switches for all other accessories; I'm using a lighted rocker switches and not toggle.

I believe we may have some answers now, as to the nature of the Elio's radio/head unit. Single-din?
I believe that is the faceplate for the MTX system molded into the dash; you would have to cut that to a single DIN rectangle to use an aftermarket stereo. Not hard to do; but it is extra work.
