Goals...deadlines...arguing over semantics is pointless. Fine, they missed Targets. Doesn't really sound better.

Throwing money at something just because it plans to be "American" isn't really a good response. Several people/companies use this to get money. There was a patriotic non profit organization that used things like this to get money and blew a lot of it. Try to get past that part and look at the meat of the company....what they are doing and how they are getting there.

Im not pissed off at all about EM. I got 51mpgs with my car. The first gen insight gets about 70hwy mpg.

Open your eyes and see that people aren't buying into the Elio for these reasons. A big goal is to get ppl to believe in EM. Until then, fewer reservations will come in.

I DO NOT GET ANY BENEFIT FROM EM FAILING. I want them to succeed, but they really gotta give me (and several others) something to sink our teeth into.

Goals and deadlines are not a matter of semantics.
They are two entirely different things.

Goal:
... the object of a person's ambition or effort; an aim or desired result.
Deadline:
... A final time that a task must be completed by.

You may be disappointed if you set a goal for yourself and don't succeed.
You may be fired if your boss sets a deadline and you don't meet it.

Sink your teeth into the latest Zacks research...

The Zacks report is all based on 200k units/yr. Just because a financial company says something, doesn't mean it is correct. Cough..housing bubble..cough. (plus investors/financial advisors etc are happy to be right 51% of the time. Lol)

I only read the 1 page report. I'll look at the rest.

WilliamH - they missed the deadline for hiring people.

Per JEBar's post in Sept 2015

...."Elio Motors is being held to a deadline by RACER Trust to create the promised 1,500 jobs.

"I think it's most important that we create the jobs and not the month that we create the jobs," said Elio.

RACER Trust owned the plant after GM's bankruptcy, then sold the plant to Caddo Parish's Industrial Development Board. Elio is held to the deadline by financial penalties. The deadline was extended to mid-2016 earlier this year.

A RACER Trust spokesman says they will likely grant Elio Motors another extension to the 4th quarter of 2016. .......

For me it's not about production target deadlines or contract promises to create jobs because funding needs to be in place before goals and contract deadlines can actually be met. My personal issue is that after 8 years of following Paul Elio's dream (and mine), I still can't test drive an Elio concept. Can you imagine how the Elio reservation numbers would sky rocket if EM was positioned to offer ride and drives rather than sit and touch events. After 8-9 years in development and millions of debt it seems there should be a fleet of P4's, P5's or E's Ride & Drives touring the country........or for some odd logic not. Any other future Elio Owners an 8 year Charter Member of the Elio Fan Club?
I think the E1A should have been driven out on the stage.......or better yet onto the race track......and the Congresswoman should have taken a lap providing she could drive a manual tranny. It will happen soon?

There will be a major financing/funding announcement soon after the testing and validation process. IMO

Of everything you've said, this is the part that holds the most value. In order for the project to really take off and produce the volume of orders needed for success, there has to be more progress with producing actual physical goods. Luckily, there is progress along those lines. The 23 E series vehicles are being built right now, and will be used to assess manufacturability, durability, fine tuning of various systems, perform safety/crash testing, and develop the manufacturing tooling. The first E-series has already been completed and delivered to Continental. Later this year, a series of 100 pre-production vehicles will be built and used for fleet customers for further road evaluation.

So, yeah, they need to actually make something. Good news: They are!

So if your boss extended your deadline that wouldn't be a problem either.
What's your real problem?
Did you get fired for missing a deadline and now you feel a need to be nasty?
You lost your house for missing a deadline on a mortgage payment and you're unhappy about it?
You don't have any skin in the game.
Let it go and stop trying to make others as unhappy and miserable as you are.

I completerly agree with your first paragraph. Get some built and get people driving, even if it is only a few for marketing. That would do so much more than announcements.

I still think the financing is far away though.
