What gives with them asking you to lock in a new price, should your deposit not have assured you of the agreed price and how many times do they plan on pulling this one. I most assuredly do not intend to pay more than $6800 i can get a great used car for that much.

Sorry you feel that way. Sounds like you didn't read the agreement very closely. $6800 was a targeted price and was never a guarantee. In actuality, locking in for only $200 more than the targeted price seems pretty damn good to me. i was expecting worse.

Especially when you figure in inflation.

over time the projected base price has varied as engineering and developments have progressed .... for a good while their target base price was $6,800 but some time back they found they had to increase it to $7,300 as can be seen on their website .... https://www.eliomotors.com/ .... in an effort to help folks who already had reservations they offered a program for locking in $7,000 base price .... the final base price may or may not have to be raised again but those who lock in at $7,000 will not be affected

If you don't pay the full amount due, I'm pretty sure your wait will have been in vein, and your $1,000 despot will be history.
As the others did mention, didn't you red what you were agreeing to when you signed on for the deposit? If not, perhaps you should.

Oh, and Welcome, but somehow I think it might be a short stay unless you're done venting. <Preferred if it was the last vent>.
