Getting a motorcycle endorsement maybe very simple (I mean, I got one), but keep in mind that there is a huge demographic of retirees who would love to have an inexpensive car to make those grocery runs, bridge club meetings, etc. who may be physically incapable of forking a motorcycle. Elio can't just ignore that segment.
Times are changing so hopefully "whever there is a will there will be a way or new law for an Elio".But my question is, Why not just show up at the dmv in your Elio to take the test. If it is registered as a motorcycle there won't be much they can say about it even though it"s probably to big to fit through some states obstacle course..

I know first hand that Florida is a pain and it's like a 6 week course, Alabama you don't even take a test , just pay the extra few bucks for mc endorsement when renewing drivers liscense.
NOT TRUE, in Florida it was a 2-DAY course (one weekend), and costs less than I'll save in the first two month driving an Elio. They provided the motorcycles, I was over 60 years old, and no problem! All I had to do was take the 'Certificate' to the DMV....... no written or driving test!

EXACTLY; first you would have to have someone with a MC endorsement to DRIVE you to the DMV, second, if it would not negotiate the course.... you would NOT PASS and get the license endorsement. But since in Florida, the Elio is classified as a "Tri-Vehicle"..... a MC endorsement is NOT required!

RogWild is correct. Florida requires the MSF Basic RiderCourse which is a 15 hour course which can be completed in as little as two days.
