It's all about the choices we make. Do you want to enjoy and have fun NOW, or LATER? Does the price matter to you to have that FUN? Are you still young and can afford to wait...or are you too old to wait to have that FUN? Strictly speaking for myself only, I will only buy a 3wheeler that makes sense to me financially. I won't enjoy it too much if it costs more than I can afford which is my bottom line.
I guess it really comes down to how long you want to wait? So, when you first heard about the Elio, what did they tell you the production date was going to be?

3wheelin, There is an enhanced 2018 silver direct-from-Vancouver Solo with 2300 miles on it up for grabs RIGHT NOW at a Washington state dealer for $14,900. Didn't you see the post I made about it with all the information? Fully ready to be registered in the USA to a US citizen. You could have flown out and driven back. The dealer website says it's still available. Maybe you still can. Our friend Janet from Virginia flew out and test drove one of these recently. Even Janet gave it a resounding thumbs up with the caveat that, like most three wheelers and especially those with RWD, it's a 10-month-out-of-the-year vehicle for those in mid and Eastern North America North of the Mason-Dixon line. If you grab this thing your wait will be over and you can have your fun.

100mi range.

Here's the direct link to the vehicle on the dealer's site: https://dobsonmotorsport.com/car/2018-meccanica-solo-ev/?fbclid=IwAR24rLnvdfYBWtpZMNHXHsFiREzAxqN-OBwrSGjC-sLIFlMMkIX0PIrdroA

Thanks Elio Amazed! I did saw your post and as tempted as I was, the difference between that and the 2.0 version from China are night and day! As everybody can see, it's a lot more refined so to speak. So I will unfortunately keep on waiting until more shipment arrives. As RickB said, the first 4 we saw on the video months ago went to #13.....hey I'm only #556 in the wait line...how bad can that be??? :D

I'm not worrying anymore what they said in the past, totally forgotten about it and moved on to the next 3wheeler with the potential to "deliver"....and I decide if I'll buy it or not, not them. Price it right and they get my business.

There's always the Polaris and Vanderhall option for the people that must have a three wheeler. This past weekend, I took a test drive of a Vanderhall Speedster. This is because Vanderhall just opened up yet another dealer in our area. The only problem is it costs a fortune at $27K (you can buy three Elios and still come out ahead). It was fun to drive. At least it gave me a FWD, three wheeler experience as I drove a Slingshot a while back and it's RWD. Plus, the Venice GT is way too expensive coming in at $34K. I just don't understand why they keep opening up dealers for something that's so expensive.
$27k for a unique sports car (trike) isn't bad in today's economic environment, and you can't buy any Elio's for any known price. They're opening up dealers because people are buying the vehicles. It's the old rule of success in business - Build a quality product at a price where buyers can afford it and you can make a profit. Who knows how long it will last, but Vanderhall seems to be doing things right.

Vanderhall has plenty of funding and it's family money. Here's an older article that's worth the read. For all I know they might throw in one of those smart toilets when you get one.

I happened across an old time Elio reservationist on the FUV facebook forums. I noticed an Elio T shirt draped across a chair in his Face book photo. He’s FUV Evergreen Edition #015. His #015 & my #019 will likely be in the assembly line and deliver at the same time. Go Arcimoto! The FUV is insanely fun to drive.

Do you pick it up at the factory? If so, ask them if you can show up and at least see part of it being built, maybe at the end. I’d think they would like that as seeing it come off the line and after their checks, they hand you the keys. It might be 4-5 hours after it comes off the line before you get it but you could make an extended weekend for it.

Both AMP pickup or White Glove Delivery to my door are available options. Having toured the AMP, I doubt they would allow general public to access the assembly line area from a liability standpoint. We had to sign waivers during our AMP tour, but I do like the idea of watching #015 & #019 being assembled and meeting a former fellow Elio fan and reservationist. I’d also like to see the color options up close and personal to verify my color choice. Eugene was a great place to visit and would look forward to another weekend stay. There was discussion and interest in a possible Evergreen 100 Rally at the AMP in 2020. I would likely attend that event since I was looking forward to the first Annual Elio Rally years ago.
