I hate to admit it but for some reason I decided to read some ignored comments from PJ in which he referenced Pontiac MI blowing off elio in 2010 and that led me to do a search to see what he was talking about. As normal, I don't buy a word of how he spins things but I would like to thank him for motivating me to look.

I found this pdf of a board meeting: http://www.pontiac.mi.us/document_center/gers021010spec.pdf

It was interesting to note that all the commissioners voted in favor of further investigation but that almost all of them were too afraid to want to ride in "the trikke". I haven't followed all the links but it really appears that overcoming fear and misconceptions as well as just bad timing were the significant issues that caused the failure of the 2010 Pontiac MI effort.

For the power hungry folks, I found this quote to be very interesting: "You can also put a McClaren supercharger in the vehicle for an additional $800.00."

I read that information a couple of months ago and got the same impression that fear and timing were significant issues. But in all fairness, they never actually saw an Elio then either. I am very glad they didn't agree to going with Elio because I think we will now have a much better vehicle. But then that is my totally not the least bit humble opinion based on all sorts of input. LOL :-) Z

Well, well, the elioites are becoming informed..maybe it was good the Pontiac people did not see the elio, might have spoiled their lunch. Remember, paul the piper was just after all those wonderful concept cars were made designed to the feds money and had to get like 100mpg, be buildable, god, some were really silly, but some look like 200 million bucks. They all got around a 100mpg..and used a creative power but not a standard manufactured engine. You have to imagine a 3 cylinder high tech modern engine in some of those concept cars. The elio is probably middle of the pack in my opinion, how bout yours?
I think paul was a little too sure of himself and his elio selling that many vehicles in year two..and the jobs, man the cost of that payroll, staggering. Guess what..the fear is still here. I can tell because there are not 50,000 people reserving the eio. For various reason, two people, small trunk, really strange pontoon wheels and it sounds awful. God, start it up around a 100 folks and the tractor magically appears. Details EM, details..just that muffler problem is people saying their quality control sucks.
EM, look at some of the other concepts, change the front, enclose the wheels, widen the rear a bit, add a bench seat and Paul elios dream of one in every home even with kids under 16 (quote) might be attainable. Like it is now.. a lot of us don't think so.
When the 2016 elio comes off the assembly line..ya all can buy me a beer when you are in OKC. A lot of my suggestions will be standard.. now go to ale' tulie.com, SEV, and zap alias and 3 wheel concept cars.com to see really good concepts.
Hey jeff, if you finance your elio, keep me in the mix, I will save you $500-$2000 in real money. I know all the tricks.

Good, I like a man who knows wtf he is doing. Oh, one more quick thing.
Mr. Elios Michigan presentation came a time when Pontiac Michigan desperately need someone to build a vehicle in that town, they were hurting badly. Yet, they turned him and the elio down.
Ya got to ask why and how that turn down affected the rest of the automotive industry view of the elio in the united states.

Saving some folks a bunch of money..helping them find the correct buying information..showing some of them the best ways to buy and what to look out for...means nothing I guess..

EM is desperate for a buyer to get them out of this fiasco. Ya cant get 200 million from reservations..wake up folks.!
