Seriously? The Gas Cap Has A Real Unmodifiable Reason To Be On The Wrong Side?

But, but, but, we're bored!! We have to have some silly little nitpick to tear apart, over analyze, put back together, then rearrange.

Oh, if ONLY we had an actual car to talk about...groan*

Gas cap!? Friggin gas cap could be on the hood ornament for all I care. Hmmm, that might actually look pretty cool if not the safest :p
It's not just a gas cap anymore. Now it's an ISSUE! That once benign little question has by now grown and expanded beyond any intention or ability to control. It has divided the once homogenous Elio tribe into a factious polarized battle to decide the ultimate question of our time: right side, or left side. And the battle rages on...
Then again, since we're not arguing the usual pointless car-squabble of Ford..Chevy..Ford..Chevy, maybe there just had to be something else pointless to debate about.

Actually had one on my '70 VW Baja Bug back in the early 80's. Whole lot easier than tilting the one-piece front end to get to the tank, and looked cool too (to me!). :D

how about a compromise for those who want the fill cap on one side and those who want it on the other .... years ago I owned a 1923 Ford Depot Hack .... to put gas in the tank you had to remove the front seat cushion and lift up the wood, hinged front seat .... the fill cap was on the top of the driver's side of the tank .... I enjoyed driving into a service station (yep, the kind that where they came out and pumped your gas :) ), telling the fellow to fill it up, and then heading for the some hidden location .... it was fun to watch them try and find the fill cap

it was even more fun to tell them to check the oil .... the T's of that era didn't have a dipstick .... down on the side of the oil pan were two petcock valves .... the top one reflected the max fill point .... the lower one was at the quart low level .... ;)

I keep checking back to this website expecting to see a rash of new numbers being posted
Since it is only 6:30 PDT and Phoenix is currently in the same time zone as me, it is a little early for the office to be open. I believe their hours are 9-3 or something like that. Patience is the name of this game. :p  :) Z
