Battery Question

I would guess a standard car battery, more electrical demand than a motorcycle. Heavy duty starter, alternator, heater/AC blower motor, 500watt stereo with 15 inch subs (just kidding), GOD ony knows what other accessories that will be available from electronic companies by the time of ELIO production.

Rumor: I heard the Elio would use a 9v battery from transistor radio, and the driver would hold in their teeth. With the added benefit of being able to lick the terminals occasionally to keep drivers awake. Making Elio the lightest weight car with the lowest frequency of falling asleep while driving.

Smoother riding, bigger cars with battery located far away from the driver's tongue invite people to fall to sleep. Its all about safety. Go Elio!

Anybody know what size the alternator will be? 50A? 70A? My 4 channel audio amplifer uses two 40 amp fuses!

The P3 had a 30 amp Denso alternator. I don't think they would use anything larger than required, in order to keep costs down. GB

Most cars would require a larger alternator - if for nothing more than running the HVAC blower. . . but I forget since the Elio's cabin is about the size of a phone booth (remember those?) everything else scales down too.

That is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time. Where was I when this was posted because I just found it thanks to RMClubfitter replying to it. Z
