He was always trying to design and build unusual things out of wood and did some truly beautiful work. Thank you for sharing that. It is awesome. :-) ZView attachment 2672 View attachment 2667 View attachment 2668 View attachment 2669 View attachment 2670 View attachment 2671 On zero notice I spent the day photographing the rides at Dayton's annual Concourse d'Elegance. They had some 200 vehicles, with a push on Maseratis, Mustangs, and Goats (GTOs). However, they had plenty of classical cars and exotica.
Here's the link to the whole gallery (still uploading as of 10:15 pm eastern).

Now here's what's weirder than an Elio. This car was called the Martin Stationette. It is build entirely of wood -- 3 wheel, rear drive, seats 2. It was dreamed up as a way of saving money because in quantity it would save on parking spaces, road wear, and gasoline economy. Martin also figured that, being made of wood, it would be cheaper to manufacture than standard cars. Does this begin to sound familiar?
Nobody took him up on it. The one existing specimen is finished to yachting standards; I can't even imagine the time it took to build it.
Anyway, here it is, the Martin Staionette! Truly, weirder than an Elio.

EASY EZ, Have you tried decaf?if this is going to be a COMMUTING VEHICLE
what are the typical speeds in the HOV lanes ??
if this is a NEV, then 35 MPH is fine to go get groceries …
AMERICAN BUYERS WILL NOT BE HAPPY WITH A SLUG !!
that is why I think a higher price with acceptable performance is better than a budget price with piss-poor performance …
I still have three Corbin Sparrows, which (because of battery technology) did NOT have a useful range, but they DID HAVE PERFORMANCE !
those little buggers would zoom right up to 75 MPH !
what good is a commuting vehicle which will not be able to maintain traffic flow in the HOV lane ?
I am retired, this island speed limit is 25 MPH, I just want the enclosed a/c part of the picture …but if I were in Florida on I95 you better be able to maintain 75 MPH
minimum !!
