If they pay upfront the $1K, then there is no risk to me. I'd charge them what I paid plus a couple of bucks to keep it interesting.

Now, if these were the only ones manufactured and they folded, I vote, not gonna happen.
I would be on the other end, trying to buy another one for parts. If new, I would pay 5K over.

I will go as high as they want! The money would be used to get another and the rest for use on down the line. If they are willing to part with $$$$ just to get their hands on something right now rather than being patient and waiting, I will be an enabler!
