What cool model names will Elio have? Surely it can't be the "P6"!

Or could it...?

And Paul Elio created the company Elio Motors but I'm waiting for the announcement: "Elio Motors is now [new name]". Like Ford/Lincoln or Toyota/Scion.

I eagerly await to hear what this potentially revolutionary trike will be named. Calling it "the Elio" is a tiny bit frustrating because I'm pretty sure that won't be its final name, and we're hopefully just less than a year from production.

Personally I think I'd prefer a simple, perhaps number-based name not dissimilar to P5, E1, etc., etc.. But who knows. Hopefully I'll like the name that's finally chosen!

I suspect the final name may not be released or decided on until we're just a few months from production, but all of this is blind speculation on my part.

We have been told it will simply be called the Elio. I have not heard anything new on that decision other than from speculating interviewers and we have learned not to believe them. :-) Z

Oh really? My mistake, then. I hadn't seen anything about that. Thanks for the information! I hope it'd eventually get its own name, as I'd think that be important for branching out to producing other models many years down the line. I suppose simply the Elio would suffice for quite a while.

My impression is the Elio is all that is needed now, and as you say for quite a while. When they decide to branch out with other models then they can choose to name them. There have been lots of names bandied about but I have always considered it simply the Elio and suspect I always will. I like the name. It is one more way to simply be different from the norm. I am all for that. Of course I could be wrong and a name will be added down the road but I suspect it will be done because of outside pressure not because Paul Elio feels the need. Again, simply a guess. :-) Z
