Latest blog states they're planning the P5, with styling details to come:

http://www.eliomotors.com/elio-supplier-summit-latest-engineering-milestones/

Which was also mentioned ina article Google found for me earlier today:

http://www.azcentral.com/story/money/business/2015/06/05/elio-prototype-dream/28564429/

It also mentions November 2017 Deliveries. Hope that was a typo.

I saw that but no sneak photos or conceptual draws. Sometimes I feel so close here yet so far :/

P5 it is, though I would have liked to see the announcement of a couple dozen in the making. We will see.

The Republic article gets a few things wrong (Elio Motors is not required to put the vehicle through crash tests), though mostly right, overall a well written article I think. The article says "Elio once hoped to have vehicles on the road by 2014. The current projected year for customers to drive off in a three-wheeler is 2016."

Take a look at the attachment (4792)of what we think the differences between P4 and P5 will be.

Funny thing is that from what we have now been able to gather it is likely a combination of both. The seat will be lowered, resulting in the news of a slightly smaller fuel tank of approximately 7.2 gallons, however the roof line is also changing a bit which does not change the overall vehicle height however does affect how much roof height is available for the back seat.

You can see the difference in AriLea's renderings which are based on EM's rendering which he confirmed to be accurate with EM. The creme colored upper image is the expected production model shape and the orange lower image is the current P4.

It would appear that the rear seat area will be much more comfortable both in terms of ceiling height and in terms of the windows being larger creating a more open feeling.

2017 is more realistic based on the amount of work to do.

P5 it is, though I would have liked to see the announcement of a couple dozen in the making. We will see.
As I stated in a previous post, it would be absurd to build more than one of a new prototype at this point in the process.
That would likely prove to be a total disaster in re-working time and cost, no matter how "minor" (best case) the corrections were.
If there was a plan to build 30 totally untested "final" pre-production vehicles at once, they could have reworked the P4.
They can't do that without folding the road show. You could put all the faith you have in CAD, engineers and simulation.
You could take it for granted that the engine, trannys, etc. will all actually fit together and work in a new vehicle according to plan.
That's a mother of a leap of faith. There ain't nuthin' like the real thing to show you any unexpected flaws. Think the motor process.
First they'll build the P5, test and rework it to total satisfaction as a final prototype. Then they'll build the crash fodder.
They may not even build the road show test drives till they test the crash fodder and make final modifications to the P5 accordingly.
At that point you'll be able to simply say that they're all copies of the final P5 and that they're what you'll be getting.

Though it's great news, don't let it get your blood sugar too high.
I quote from the blog, "The entire meeting surrounded the development of the next generation prototype,..."
That means they're still drawing it up. It's going to take a while to finalize. The time it will take is part of the normal process.
"The Summit ends today and we will have more to share in the coming weeks including the styling changes of your P5."
There have been a lot of presumptions that all the completed plans were in the drawers and the only obstacle was cash.
On the other hand, "To succeed in a long race like a marathon, you need to do the work that no one sees..."
And, "That behind the scenes action is what we are doing at Elio: the work."
That's exactly what many of you have been saying for months.

It looks like they have enough to build the P5. Not necessarily 30, but at least enough for one. That was the next step all along.

They've finally replied to "What the heck are you guys actually doing?"
