Not an option "out here". It's 40 miles to the closest bus stop, a 3 mile bus ride to get a mile closer to work, then another 2 mile walk to work. Or, I could just drive the 42 miles to work.
Thanks for the report, Jeff. I just plugged in Southdale in the GPS. Sounds like 62 will be my route. I'll be there sometime tomorrow late morning, will update when I leave here.
Any questions Jeff missed I should ask?
I will check on the motor and P3.
Is Iola Speedway a typo for Iowa?
I see a problem here. 6500# curb weight in an extended cab and only 1000 lbs payload. That's less than me, my buddy and an atv in the back. I bet towing is less than stellar as well.
Of course, I find it ironic that I can buy a 10 year old truck and be the first one to scratch the inside of the...
Pretty simple really. The motor's about the same size as my lawn mower. Not much market for a 350CCA lawn and garden battery. Plus it saves weight.
Or just do what the big companies do, bury the some beach under so much stuff it isn't worth the time it takes to get to it.
I guess I don't get...
Location is still shown as TBA on EM website. I'm planning to get there at least one day, anyone else planning to be there? (It's most likely I will go Sat, Friday is work and Sunday is a busy day for me).
Jim, I might just take a drive out sometime this summer to meet ya. It doesn't take much to convince me to go on a "crop tour", other than time - which can be in short supply.
Yes. Me, for one. There was a time, after the dyno video came out, that I almost broke my pledge to wait till I can drive one before I put money down. That urge has passed.
I do need to say, many of us hammered Elio for the "Sunshine and Roses" they were trying to spread, and now we're bothered...
Is it communism for a meat shop owner to toss a PETA protester out of his business?
If the Elio is built, this site could well be a lucrative business for the owner, but if the site is trashed by haters before it gets off the ground, it's a wasted investment. Okuma Steve and his crew need to do...
I disagree. This is a private club, owned by a private individual, that we've been allowed to join. If any of us overstay our welcome, the owner or his staff members are more than justified in showing us the door.
My experience with E85 is similar to what Edmunds found. I'd need to see a 25% discount for it to pencil out, something I never see here. I drive by 2 stations that carry E85 going to work, the only cars filling with corn are state vehicles that are mandated to use it.
I'm not against it...
NSTG8R, is the original still a tourist destination? I would like to see it some day soon. I have a good friend in Carthage, reason enough to go there.
Wierdly, the land of 10,000 lakes to the west of me and my own state (with 14,000 lakes, but no need to brag) both lack a Bass Pro. Nearest one...
Interesting. But saying it can be made for 1-1.50 Eu/L is not a good comparison to the current price quoted of 1.50 Eu/L for diesel which likely includes a ton of taxes and marketing, transport, etc. costs that aren't likely to be added in to the E diesel cost yet.
It's a cool concept, but...
I believe it's time to build myself an old truck with a Tier 0 diesel and manual transmission. Hill parking will allow it to run "wirelessly" if needed.
Roof mounted twin .50s optional...
