Not necessarily. With 60hp and 55tq, the overdrive ratio can only be so tall; beyond a certain point it wouldn't be able to maintain speed at a low enough throttle input to save fuel.
The 'gas card' financing works by charging the credit card 3x the gas fill cost. The extra 2/3 goes to the payment. The reasoning is that you'll save so much on fuel, the extra 2/3 will be about equal to what you had been paying for fuel each month with your previous vehicle. There will be a...
My guess is the squared off rear panel is largely for safety; it yields a larger lit area for improved visibility to other drivers. It also allows for a larger trunk opening. The wheel pants may make up most of what is lost in the rear aerodynamics.
If a modern, new vehicle is designed to only survive normal use for 100k miles, it shouldn't be mass produced or released to the public. The 100k miles prob means the Elio is designed to not have any major service performed within the first 100k miles.
Same thing will apply here. A plug kit and small 12v inflater, or a can of slime. Either type will fit in the trunk and not take up much space or add much weight.
Does the Fl DMV have any info? It sounds like the Elio staff is being diligent regarding helmet/MC license requirements. I'll assume they'll get it all smoothed out by the time of release. Elio will be the first full production vehicle of this type, but they won't be the only one for long...
100K miles? Cars of the 50s & 60s were usually good for ~100K miles, then they need an engine/trans rebuild or the scrap yard. Modern engines are designed so they don't even need new spark plugs until they hit 100K miles. If you have insider info that Elio is designed to be a 100K mile...
What's wrong with a bike carrier? I guess it'd be better to drive 100mi @ 20mpg in an SUV vs ~60-65ish mpg in the Elio carrying bikes to a specific riding area? THAT is illogical.
I've heard nothing about forfeiting $$ after a time period. The only time you'd lose money is if you're all-in and they fold, or you back out.
I've been all-in since early Jan, I check every once in a while but my acct still shows 'processing' as well.
These will certainly not be a Vega type fiasco. Those were silicon lined cylinders (basically). Materials and coatings technology have advanced significantly since the 70s. The IAV will likely have ceramic coated cylinders. Rebuild potential? I bet it won't be cost effective since the...
Possibly, but likely not in a factory 4v/cyl DOHC configuration. The IAV engine is listed as being high compression. What's the actual CR? Got me, but the CR may exclude adding forced induction to this powerplant.
