Currently, just 2.5 miles each way. Once we break ground on the brewery (next month), it'll go up to 16 miles each way.
My Abarth would probably get me about 25 MPG on that drive. If the Elio gets 60 (thinking conservatively), that would save me about $70 a month.

I don't get how people are angry that we subsidize solar panel companies, but are perfectly fine with the crazy subsidies that oil companies get.

It depends a lot on the technology used to create the ethanol... some are energy positive, others are energy negative.
Technically speaking, it is energy negative to use gasoline and diesel fuel because we don't count the energy it would take to replace the fossil fuels. There is a finite...
"Contains Ethanol" usually means E10 (90% gasoline).
E85 is for "Flex Fuel" vehicles that can run on high percentages (and get lower MPGs).
A lot of manufacturers adopted E85 in trucks and SUVs because it offsets their CAFE fuel efficiency numbers.

No, E is for ethanol, and the number is he percentage. Most gas is now E10, or 10% ethanol. E85 is 85% ethanol (and 15% gasoline).

I didn't read the whole thing, but it looks like they were talking about E85, not E15. Yes, E85 will give you a pretty big drop in mileage. Most cars can't run E85, anyway.
E85 has about 72% of the energy of gasoline per gallon.
E10 has about 98% of the energy of gasoline per gallon...
$3.89 is worth it? You only get a few percent more MPGs on pure gasoline than with E10. So maybe if E10 was $3.75 or more, then $3.89 would be worth it.
Around here, regular E10 is about $2.20. My car uses premium, which is about $2.70. I might pay $2.80 if any place around here had premium...
"Sport" mode on my Abarth does quite a few things: it remaps the pedal, raises the shift points, makes it shift faster, increases turbo boost (adding 20 more pounds of torque), tightens the steering, and makes it hold lower gears through turns so that you can get back on the throttle quicker...
Calling someone out for what they say is called a discussion. This is a normal behavior for human beings.
Probably the funniest thing I hear on the internet is when someone expresses an opinion, then someone gives their opinion of the first person's opinion... and then the first person gets...
