Right, but what's the motivation.
Surely Forbes didn't decide to do a piece on a firm reverse engineering a new BMW product for fun, and that the entire thing sounded like an advertisement isn't an accident. It's just a sort of bizarre piece to me.
I can't help but wonder who funded this video and for what reason.
It's about a firm reverse-engineering a BMW but watches like a BMW advertisement, which is strange.
We used the high school's old paint shop that hadn't been used in ages - which we stripped and re-painted ourselves. Definitely better than what you described, but not exactly state-of-the-art.
Maybe things are different now, but my team showed up at like 6AM daily, worked before school, then stayed after till like 6PM or something, then Saturdays too.
Weekends I could probably manage
I was on a FIRST team in high school (11-12 years ago) - so much fun.
I'd like to mentor a team, but with my hour commute I don't know where I'd find the time.
No big news, but the DoE just revamped their loan site with an obvious emphasis on job preservation/creation - I wonder if it's in anticipation of an announcement of some kind (not necessarily Elio).
Quick note on the dyno testing:
My folks were down at the Richmond event on Saturday (12/20) and my dad was told they were still air testing the engine (running it with air rather than fuel).
We knew that would be a part of the testing procedure, but I was interested to hear that it was...
My dad taught me to "drive like my right foot is attached directly to my wallet" and that's stuck.
Gas pedal, brake pedal - they both cost money every time you touch them.
I'm just trying to emphasize the difference in point of view that a new or infrequent user has vs the regulars.
I 100% get that if you're actively following a thread on a given topic, it becomes more like a conversation - with each post following on the last and ideas evolving with time and...
Like I said, I understand it in principle - but in practice there needs to be a system to kill old threads.
If this forum is still active in 10 years, will all posts regarding the engine be merged into a 10,000 post "the elio engine" thread?
There comes a point where old threads should be...
I get (in theory) why this is going on, but there has to be a limit.
The current method of categorizing posts is becoming a crazy entry barrier for new users.
I just logged onto the site for the first time in awhile (not a new user) and conversations are still going on in the same threads...
Can something be done about the automatic capitalization of post titles?
It's really bugging me that the first letter of each string is capitalized, but only the first letter is allowed to be capitalized.
Abbreviations like ATVM become Atvm.
Any time a non-letter is used to start a string, no...
At 30 you've only been out of high school for 12 years, college for maybe 8, higher degrees even less. Not sure exactly what major technical advances you're expecting out of fresh grads, but what I'm saying is we haven't been around long enough to be major players in the development of science...
That's my plan as well.
If you have an android that is 4.4+ I highly recommend enabling the "OK Google" voice activation 'from any screen' option that they added (disabled by default). You can then further enhance it by allowing it to listen even when the screen is off when plugged in.
I...
Somebody might want to tell that to the Elio rep on Facebook.
Gene: Will this be the new Gauges ?
Elio Motors: Hello Gene, this will be one of the instrumentation options, and if you want a more basic instrument panel, you can get that too!
Gene: Will this option replace the round analog...
Yes, the moon roof in my subaru makes no noise when closed, and is VERY quiet when open. A thing lifts up to redirect airflow so it isn't turbulent and that makes it quite quiet open. I drive with it open nearly every day in the summer (and I didn't even want one when I bought the car, lol). My...
