YOU COULD NOT POSSIBLY FIT BIGGER BRAKES INSIDE A 10" WHEEL .
THE DISCS ARE FROM AN MG MIDGET TURNED DOWN 1/2" SMALLER DIAMETER
AND THE CALIPERS ARE WILWOOD 4 POT UNITS .

For a vehicle that weight those are plenty of brake for it.
They originally came with drum slow downs (for the way they worked, I can't call them brakes) didn't they?
Those little disks are going to just about stand it on it's nose if you slammed on the peddle. :D

I AM HOPING IT WILL SLAM ON IT's NOSE SMOOTHLY . THERE IS NO POWER ASSIST .

THE HONDA 600cc COUPE THAT THE MOTOR CAME FROM COULD DO 85-90 mph FLAT OUT .
I DON'T THINK MY TG WILL BE ANY FASTER ON THE TOP END BUT IT WILL GET THERE
A LOT MORE QUICKLY .

THE POINT IS , I CAN DRIVE IT ON 540 & KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC .
MY OTHER MESSERSCHMITTs CAN'T DO THAT .

WITH THE LIGHTER WEIGHT AND BETTER AERODYNAMICS THAN THE HONDA 600 ,
I THINK I WILL SEE FUEL EFFICIENCY IN THE 70's .

THE ELIO WILL BE BOTH FASTER AND GET BETTER MILEAGE .

As others have said , just another rear wheel drive . A spider with a cab. The ELIO is the right way to do it front wheel drive.
Right does not always work out.

I like the control of a RWD vehicle particularly in an EV with the Motor Driving the rear wheel. I had the best traction ever in my RWD VW (rear engine) years ago. My front wheel drive Audi sucked in bad weather driving conditions and as a result had to bump up to the more costly AWD Audi back in the day.
