When I talk to Neil from the tour group he did mention that there will be a "ship to your door" option.
He guessed at the price saying he thought he heard $60 to $75 additional for that option.
I am going that route; big truck pull up in front of the house, unload your Elio and every one of the neighbors will ask "how did you do that" and "what is it"?

Perhaps EM should offer the Elio in kit form UPS shipped to your door so that those that have the skill set can build their own. Think of the labor savings!

Like those ships you can buy? Each month they send you another section but you have to sign up to a 1 or 2 year contract and keep making payments; you don't get the final piece until after you make the last payment; in the Elio it would be the steering column.

E,M is get around the dealerships ( I think there are a few hold-out states, )they'll replicate Tesla's approach, and when it's all set-up have the models to demo, and order them under one roof. Tesla has storefronts, not sure nationally, have seem them in malls.
Regarding deliveries, I believe, until they have the distribution centers set up, early on-no stores yet, deliveries will be at those locations or as mentioned home delivery, not sure if home will be an option when the stores open.
Just an aside, in the beginning, we'll be contacted a few weeks before assembly to order our unit- at which time all options will come out of the factory (will be a distribution center), and yes, although right nearby, shipping costs will be equal across the country

Last year when I spoke to Jerome, they were trying to work a deal with a casino (apparently the place is a min Las Vegas),
for folks who fly in (only) comp a room for 2-3 days, transportation from airport and back from factory-
If not seems cheap enough to cover myself.
Gonna take a wild guess, there will be owners who will drop at the tables, the value of the E :-)
