Not sure what looks like means. Manufacturers "partner" with suppliers regularly, but seldom are they investing in a company with a dream, would like to find out if this news confirms suppliers are subsidizing costs for EM, which would be completely unusual.

Even though you don't subscribe to the Pollyanna-ism school of Elio, as do I,
you clearly have business acumen & express yourself in an erudite manner,
without malice or rancor. if Elio were selling you would clearly sell them short
(pun intended) but what the hey, time will either prove you right or wrong or
somewhere in between. I think Paul & company are the right thing at the right
time, you know why. Your intellect would be better served helping them succeed,
rather than prognosticating their demise.......................

Actually, I have always loved a thesaurus but really learned to appreciate it when eating lunch with foreign students at Idaho State University. These students came to the US for one thing - to learn English so they spent 30 hours per week doing that. When they had a problem understanding a new word I found a thesaurus worked much better than a dictionary because if I could find another word with the same meaning it was easier to understand than the "official" dictionary definition. It turned out to be a lot of fun and I spent many lunch hours conversing with these wonderful young people and helping them learn our language and at least my part of our culture. :-) Z

Anyone else notice in the news that one of our suppliers, TAKATA, is getting attention for the defective airbags in Toyota? Hope they aren't the same one's Elio is using.

Anyone else notice in the news that one of our suppliers, TAKATA, is getting attention for the defective airbags in Toyota? Hope they aren't the same one's Elio is using.

That should make them a bit cheaper.
When I checked out the suppliers I listed two as supplying airbags. Takata and Irvin also provides them.

Let's hope Irvin is supplying the air bags. Elio has a pretty small cabin to have shrapnel flying around.

Since the Elio doesn't have a "passenger side", I think we'll be in good shape.

Yes, IIRC, a "side curtain" on each side, and one in the steering wheel. Since the plan is to use existing designs, and we haven't heard of problems with those types (yet)....What could possibly go wrong? o_O
