If the Elio would have worked out, I would be super tempted to pack that back seat up with supplies and head to Denver, CO with it (from WV). Probably be much safer then flying there on cheap airline tickets.
Would have been interesting to see what Elio users would be doing with there Elio's during this "different" times.

Talk about crazy. Ohio's governor is implementing the stay-at-home policy, which is good. The crazy part is it doesn't go into effect until 11:59 tonight (Mar, 23, 2020) and lasts at least until April 6th and probably longer. Why the delay? My guess is that they are waiting for the Federal Government to pass some kind of relief today.

So we all showed up to work today, but we can all work at least six feet apart (more like 20 foot). Will our business be considered essential? My guess is no. About a third of production is automotive related. Another third makes handles for exercise machines. The rest varies but includes repair parts for fishing nets.

I'm also speculating that we will shut down for two weeks and then the Federal Government will shut down the whole country for even longer because some states will be too late responding.

Not taking political sides, but I'm tired of the politicians "playing politics" when there are serious consequences to their delays. They could always pass something now and amend it later.

For now there are no known cases at work and few even in the county I live in.
I did just get my Medicare number (card in the mail?) but it doesn't start until July 1st. Wonder if it will matter.

I bet like in PA, there will be companies filing waivers and lawsuits because of this. Now we have the highway patrol going out and enforcing businesses that are to be closed, to be closed. Locally we had our first death the other day and it was from a guy that's part of the family in NJ where 4 have died so far.
On the other hand, lots of people out walking and riding bikes. I've never seen so many people in our neighborhood out and about. I did a 30 mile ride on Sunday and even out in the farmland, there are people walking around when it's typically like a ghost town. I guess when you have no sports, no bars, no kids sports and many not working, they found out getting outside is not bad when the weather is nice. On Saturday, I pruned the trees and raked up all of the leftover leaves and branches laying around. Then my wife and I had a big bonfire in the backyard. I had to burn it because I could have infected those branches and burning them was the only option. Today, I'm resealing around the bathrooms. As I mentioned before, I hoarded a bunch of things (calk, paint, brushes, rollers, etc.) from Home Depot so I got lots of work to do. Later this week will be installing a new air system for the garage (that project has been on the shelf for over a year).

Looks like I keep working, for a little while anyway. Our company makes an assembly used by Lincoln Electric for MIG welders. It actually goes on top of the spools of wire to reduce rat nesting when pulling the wire out. They are considered necessary and by extension so are we. Not sure yet how long we will be considered necessary. They say we are working through Thursday at least. Next week is unknown.

Looks like companies are deciding they may be considered essential, but they can still afford to shut down for a while. My company is working through Thursday and then we will be shut down all next week, and maybe the week after. We are shipping everything we have in stock. I did find some disinfectant at Meijers yesterday after work, but they only had about a dozen (I bought 3 for work). Still no toilet paper or bottled water.

With many of the small business workers laid off, it might be some good life lessons for the kids. Get a good education while you can so you can better provide for your family during times like this. Have a well stocked pantry. Have extra cash. Learn to handle stress.

When all this is said and over, it will be the kids paying for the current mess as many of us won't live long enough to pay the several trillion bill. (I'm not saying we will die of the covid-19 disease, but that we might not naturally live the twenty plus years it may take to pay off. Plus, many of us will be or are retired.)

Less traffic today. That's good. Filled my tank up at $1.60 gallon. Doubt it will stay this low for long.

In WV, even with virus, and low traffic, gas isn't cheap.
