Yes. They have always planned to produce each Elio with $1,000 profit included in the price.

That's 65mil in profit to start with on the 65k reservations. Automatic transmission adds more profit. And a 20% markup on additional features like leather seats, backup camera, etc. That appears to be a recipe for success. The true test of the business model will come when they try to sell 100mil worth of stock.

Nope. You're forgetting that in addition to already spending all the all-in deposits from that batch of 65,000 units...That's 65mil in profit to start with on the 65k reservations. They've actually gone into the hole on many of them by giving up to a $750 discount plus locking them in @ $7k before discounts..
If you average it all out, about the only "profit" they might make on the first 65,000 units is on options, add-ons and upgrades.

Question is... Is Elio Motors worth anything to anyone or is it seen as a big black money-pit right now?
Elio has no revenue...huge amounts of debt...no validated production ready prototypes...and holds no patents for intellectual property...
Hard to imagine the Elio has much value to anyone else...

I have'nt been reading in here for a long time. But isn't Paul Elio & his vp each taking $250k each year? I'm in for two, #2352 & #18104... Has anyone said that we should all contact our politicans and have them check this out.
No, because the books say they take that much, they really don't.
A lot of it is owed, but they aren't taking it, it's a numbers thing.
There is no need to contact politicians.
