Elio Gauge Cluster - Lord Elgin? - Other Options?

OK, everyone, I'm going to eat my hat on this one. When I perused the FMVSS 101 reg, it required MPH or MPH and km/h. So it seems displaying metric isn't a requirement.

Has anyone noticed this thread has reached 100 pages? This should be an indication to the Elio team (who probably monitor this forum) how much the elgin gauge cluster is disliked.

So let's start a poll for how many prefer a Cadillac over a Chevy Impala. Both cars have to sell for under $26000. Wait GM says cannot sell Cadillac for that. Let's all vote for Caddy anyway and complain; maybe Gm will change it's mind..or maybe not.

Unfortunately for those who do not like the design EM is likely pretty pleased overall as the more telling indication is how the response has changed once people get a chance to see the prototype gauge cluster in person. If you read through the posts of those who have seen it in person the response has gone from generally negative to generally positive, or at least neutral, on the Elgin.

But you will have to walk all the way around the car to get to the gas cap and if you go around the front, you will knock your knee into the fenders. Oh What a potential catastraphe to have the Gas Cap on the wrong side, I bet we will have to screw it clockwise to undo it too!?!?!?!?!
