As there has been a lot of confusion over what exactly Paul Elio meant in his Town Hall comments Silas Sunday asked for some clarification from Elio Motors and then produced this great production estimate graph and posted it to EMOA on Facebook. This pretty much matches what we have been told by Elio Motors in their blog and also clarifies what Paul Elio described in the Town Hall meeting while extrapolating a proper ramping up of production as it would not be logical to expect Elio Motors to be able to produce hundreds of brand new vehicles on a brand new assembly on the very first day of production.

The blue line is line/shift 1, orange is line/shifts 1 & 2, green is both lines/shifts 1 & 2 @ 100%

Paul Elio and his team have to be able to answer the production question as quickly as possible so they can't really give the full explanation but instead must provide a quick general idea of how things will work.

Bottom line - it's PE's car. If he wants an Elgin Dash with friggin lasers, that's what he's going to get. ;)
True but if he wants to sell a million of them he should listen to what his future customers have to say. JMO

Have not had much time to read the last few weeks so could someone please tell me who the hell is this Lord Elgin fellow and maybe a picture link to his proposed Elio dash would help me out....thanks in advance.

If they keep the 'goofy' Elgin ('SB') design, and they opt for the OBDII port; I'll just drop a couple of hundred..... get an old iPad, or android tablet (already have)..... get a 'Dash app'..... and have a FUNCTIONAL instrument cluster. If the above was just "an example of what they had in mind"...... then they wasted a lot of engineer's time and fabricator's..... to make a 'realistic mock-up'.
No fabrication. I'm pretty sure minicomputer renderings were ever made and that was probably the "Hey Paul, is this what you had in mind?" kind of thing. You can almost hear Paul saying "Yes. That is really close. Let's gauge reaction and then tweak the design a bit." I wonder if the designer recently has said something like "Paul, it is going to take a ton of tweaking to get it to where people like it."
