I'm all in For $100. I'm most likely the only person from my area to put in a reservation. I live in rural farm country were pickups & tractors own the road. I average 20000 miles a year driving to & from work besides my wife going to school another 8000. My 99 Escort gets 35 MPG but 84 MPG sounds FANTASTIC!! Can wait to get mine. I figure the Escort will be about used up by mid year 2015, and hopefully I will get the ELIO by then. Every one looks at me funny when I tell them about the ELIO and that I put down money on one. Hopefully I will be laughing all the way to the bank next year

I'm close to the land of Mark Twain & the Mississippi river. We are mostly stubbern Germans around here. I can't wait to raise some eye brows when I drive my Elio through our little town of 500! Maybe there will be a Elio owner gathering some where in the middle where we can all trade storys face to face.

I'm also from the Midwest. Raised on a farm, in my young life, with pigs, chickens, corn, beans and all that stuff. I live on a dead-end road that sometimes gets the snow plowed and sometimes not. Drove 50 miles a day to and from work for 42 years. Retired last year and went all in last year. And yes, there will be eye brows raised around my 9000 pop. town when I get mine. So what. It's cool. The locals I show the picture to say "go for it, you only live once." :)

Another Midwesterner here, I'm happy to say I am all in! Probably the only one from Eastern Iowa that will have one of these and am looking forward to enlightening the locals on what an ultra-light vehicle can accomplish. I'm a retired carpenter that used to drive 30,000+ miles a year and hope to do some touring when I am seated in my Elio!

And yet another Midwesterner jumping "all in."

I was #13 on the original list for Aptera. I wanted one so badly that when they sent me a refund because I wasn't in their initial target area in CA, I actually got someone to be a proxy for me and got right back on the list. I bet I watched that silly dolphin-filled animation on the first Aptera site a hundred times, When it increasingly looked like the dream was dying, I swapped for Venture Vehicles -- now known as Persu. But the dates there kept sliding, sliding... sliding. So now I'm all in at Elio.

Won't someone please give me a peachy-keen three wheel enclosed bike? I've been waving my money for a decade!

Oh I am so sad for you Devilstower, really I am. I only just read the Aptera story and it dam near made me cry. Big price difference and I pray Mr. Elio (I don't think he will) wont make the same mistakes as the Aptera gang did. First off Elio has a GREAT plant to start off in and won't be moving manufacturing. Second Elio got much more money raised )47 million vs. Aptera's 24 million over a 5 year run. OUR DEPOSIT ARE CHICKEN FEED compared to all that. I believe your going to get your elio and me mine.

There will be at least two in eastern Iowa as of now, I am also all in. Do you remember the 8N Ford tractor, they were built back in the 50s and I think there is still more of them running that any other model of tractor made to this date, that's pretty impressive. I expect the same results for the Elio, it will be the greatest car ever made.
