The only vehicles that exist are prototypes, so no. There isn't anywhere to go to test drive one. E series are being built, but will not be driven by the public. Then 100 fleet vehicles will be built for real world testing and feedback. Then they start producing Elios for the reservation holders, so you'd probably have to wait until one of them is agreeable for the first opportunity to drive one. Sometime after that, they should start producing some for the Company Owned sales offices.

ps I live in Texas and expect my Elio around Christmas 2017.

Hi Heath, welcome to the forum!

Test drives for reservationists are supposed to happen several weeks before production begins. So if you did a $100 refundable deposit, you might be among the first ones to be able to test-drive it. This unfortunately is several months away.

I am under the impression that the retail stores will roll out slowly starting with high reservation holders area first. So Maybe, when production starts there may be a few retail stores that will be open in Texas like Dallas, Houston and San Antonio?

I don't see how any of the ALL in reservation holders could get a test drive before their vehicle is built. Maybe the Want ins might have a chance before they have to say yes or no.

Being in central Iowa I don't expect to get to drive one until I actually take delivery of #16623, unless one of my fellow Iowans lets me take a spin

There are two possibilities I can think of off hand.

One, they can use a prototype or undestroyed E series for test drives.

Two they can use one of the Elios ordered by Paul or other Officers who already have a super low SIL for this purpose or any SIL which cannot be delivered for whatever reason such as death, financial inability to complete the transaction for the full purchase amount or failure to leave forwarding information to contact a customer to complete the purchase.

ps I just thought of the third possibility. Use one of those 100 Fleet vehicles being leased to the Fleet customers initially.

It was told to me at the Portland Oregon showing of p-4 that test drives were planned for the $1000 all in's when they tour with a stick and a auto about the time production begins. My personal thought is the really low numbers might get their trikes before getting a test drive.

The only way I see any of the SIL people getting a test drive is if they pick up their Elio at the the Shreveport factory. Which is exactly my plan.
