You can register using your Google, Facebook, or Twitter account, just click here.I recognize the first one as a paraphrase from a book that I read once (or twice). Not sure where the second one is from.Mottos:
Treat people the way you want to be treated. OR
Treat people the way they treat you....................if you treat me like crap you must want to be treated like crap too.
Frankly, respect is earned.
CompTrex, are you channeling Wayne?
That's a "yes". I'm not aware of any state that hasn't gorged at the federal taxpayer trough to build HOV lanes.
in fla. there exists (for a small fee) HOV sticker for hybrids and w/ the sticker. a single passenger is o.k.,motorcycles( with just the driver), does not require even the sticker. Also, no insurance or helmet needed for adult bikers. On the upside, the traffic overheads on I95 that tell you traffic conditions,Amber alerts, Silver alerts (when someone who shouldn't be driving gets "lost"), do also Alert drivers to give MC a chance!regs for HOV lanes are interesting ... most I've seen require two or more occupants with the exception of a motorcycle .... when we are traveling in Sportchassis towing our camper, we have two occupants .... I've never seen a private or commercial truck our size in an HOV lane .... while I have no desire to be the test case, I can't help but wonder what, if any, unpublished rules apply
Jim
I would think driving a vehicle that has a mc license plate would mean it has access to the HOV. The mc license in Oregon doesn't look anything like car license plates in size and in most cases in color. There may occasionally be a similar color license plate on an official government vehicle but even those are rare. :-) ZYup, totally agree. I think it may just be that Elio is creating a new mindset as far as catagories of vehicles. So far it's been pretty black and white, car or motorcycle. It's not that there hasn't been 3 wheeled, enclosed vehicles before they've just not been as successful as we think and hope the Elio will be. People aren't going to really know what to do with it at first so they'll try to make it fit in one of the two catagories. I think it will just be weird for a while is all.
Well hopefully the Elio would have no fee since it has no batteries for moving. Here's something else to think about: NC (and maybe some other states) had considered a "fee" for hybrid and alternate fuel vehicles to make up for the lost revenue from gas taxes...
Sorry G1. We got carried away. Thanks for reigning us in!Can we please try and pull this thread back on topic.
We actually do have a good thread already in which to move this conversation as I do agree it is a good topic discuss:

I just realized this today , that an Elio will be able to take advantage of the HOV lane in Atlanta. That is if it is registered as a motorcycle, just one more benefit that one will get with the E- car. This isn't a 'yes'.
Granny FrannyI know where I live motorcycles can use the HOV lane, will the Elio get the same privileges I wonder

Elio MotorsHello Granny, since we're classified as a motorcycle on the federal level, if the states received any federal money to build those HOV lanes, it is our understanding that they cannot restrict Elios from HOV lanes.
This seems less emphatic than they used to be....
