Found the video (May 2014). Gas was $3.69 for the national average back when the video came out. I wish that would have been me to experience the Elio on the road as opposed to those two.

Some great news for Elio. With 90% USMCA parts and the low targeted $7,450, this will be the choice for many since the average price of a car can go up $2,450 soon. People will not be able to afford a new car and the only choice will be the Elio.

As much as I want to entertain your enthusiasm, try not to get too attached to that $7,450. projected price tag. A basic motorcycle can cost that much without car comforts (A/C, 3rd wheel, fully enclosed, etc.). That projected price hype of the ELIO has got us all interested to put in reservations in the first place. Then again, if EM can pull it off and comes close to that price then not only will it empress everybody, it'll sell like hotcakes and will totally change the way big auto makers makes and sell their cars.

Nissan Versa
Mitsu Mirage
Chevy Spark
These are all around $13k or less for MSRP, and they're Avg. OTD price for all but the Mirage is less than $13k. Granted, who knows how much longer these will even be made.
.........and the Versa, Mirage, and Spark are compact 4 seater family cars, not 2 seater motorcycle supplements to the primary family car as are the Elio, Arcimoto, and the SOLO commuters. We have no idea of the final MSRP of the Elio at the earliest possible delivery date of 2021 or beyond.

Cars will average a $2,450 increase all while getting an average of 24.7 mpg. The Elio is priced at a targeted $7,450 and gets up to a targeted 84 mpg. Just like the average price of a gallon of gas in the US is, $2.24. So just look at the numbers that make your case. If you are writing press releases, then you can make it look great or terrible. Take your pic. As for Elio, they can capitalize on this information because most people do not look up real data. So go for it if that's what it takes to get investors. It worked in the past, it'll work today.
