WHAT DID THE BUSINESS PLAN SAY ABOUT RAISING THE $240 Million 8 years ago ?

where IS / WAS the money suppose to come from ?

why wait till Jan 2015 to contact

" We have retained Corporate Fuel Securities, a New York-based FINRA registered broker dealer to act as financial advisor and placement agent in our fundraising efforts. "

I am just curious, what WAS the plan ?

CERTAINLY starting a major automobile manufacturing company requires a BUSINESS PLAN ?
Of course they have a plan, and it was filed with the ATVM application (which is still very much alive). Because they have one doesn't mean you or I have the right to see it. Pay attention!

The naysayers don't get it, the sad fact is that nothing anyone says will persuade you off your fixation that the sky is falling. You have not lost anything yet, just need to be more patient. Nothing in what PE or EM has released gives any indication they are failing, just that they have needed to adjust their plans to achieve their goal to which they are steadfast. That is the sign of success, and no indication they are quitters or crooks. PE is not listening to the naysayers.

Give them a break. The Elio is an outside the box, complicated project with more factors to address and consider than can be imagined, its not like its ever been done before by this team. EM is a start up company with a simple but profound vision, in a competitive marketplace. You must know and appreciate that instinctively or you would not be here at all. If you really have no confidence, just leave, don't try make things miserable for others.

They have designed and built 3 complete prototypes and a brand new engine, and toured the country generating interest for which the demand is great. Their novel approach to developing and bringing this vehicle to reality is as intriguing as the Elio itself - never before been done in such a visible way. Most car companies would just develop a vehicle behind closed doors and voila it would magically appear one day, after many years of development. The behind the scenes work is not visible at all, think of the gazillions of man-hours to accomplish what they have done so far. Slow and steady persistence is all I see which is admirable on every level. The world can wait a bit longer for the Elio of that is what it takes, the delay is not the end of life as we know it. When they hit a wall, they resolve it some way. The track record shows they are respectable problem solvers and the Elio will happen, just not on the timetable they had originally hoped to meet and that people have come to expect.

If they are going to involve the public to this level in the process, they could do better at creating a more detailed resource-loaded critical path schedule so that people understand the projections and variables, but they really don't owe us that level of detail. They could do better at communicating reasonable expectations, but some are just natural haters. Go away already if that's your M.O.

Not to say they are not immune from failure, it could happen, but its not visible on the horizon.

Well-said.

"The company was under a deadline to fill 1,500 jobs by the end of the year or face financial penalties. But the entity they made the agreement with, Racer's Trust, has granted Elio Motors a 6 month extension.

Elio says when they have a concrete production start date, they will start the hiring process about 60 days beforehand."

So by this Elio will have to be hiring by end of April 2016. Is that correct?
So the production is July 1st. 2016 if no other delays. So you won't see an Elio in your driveway until Aug. 2016.
18 month delay and you think Elio didn't know this 6 months ago, get real.

Just another "Elio Urban Myth"...

EM blog "says"...really...just more misinformation that Elio Motors wants the public to believe...

Mr Elio...it's time to refund the "nonrefundable" deposits to those that wish to wish wash their hands of this fairy tale...
What is your contract definition of non-refundable? The Elio dream continues one more year for the pre-order community members of this forum. Who put you in charge of refunds? Only refundables are refundable. Who put you in charge of closing shop? Closing shop is clearly the Caddo Parrish Commission responsibility. You had your day and in one of your posts you said "I don't want to belabor the issue". Today you seem to be belaboring the issue. Although continue on, because your posts are as entertaining as mine and I have you to thank for the slap in the face awareness of that one more year to prove it.

Not much has changed beyond the production date and fuel added to the naysayer's bonfire. Elio Motors has one more year to get the necessary funding and reach production status. One more year! Thanks again.

BLACK FRIDAY THE BEGINNING OF THE END
First a quick background- I had followed the project, then when i saw the window of the $500 incentive was closing 9/1/14, I like many went all in. No question of the "contract" or concern, I have the money to lose, and the next time I'd see it was at time of purchase, when if I wanted to drove away with writing a $5300 check I could. With production starting about a year away, was thinking I'd be picking up my little honey- like today.

My thoughts at the time, closing the door to incentives sent a message that there was no longer a need to offer incentives.

We all went to bed Christmas night, with sugar plums and the EM announcement for Black Friday dancing in our heads.

To awake from the dream to see that in fact the incentives were back, and to the credit of those braver than I (Sept 1-Dec 25 with no incentive) the door was re-opened. I thought he wanted to reach a number for PR before the end of the year to meet a goal.

Whatever we each call the very recent events the money and production date remain open ended. I as many thought the loan was a backup in their hopes of securing a lower interest rate. I (we) were wrong.

He now finds himself in a very poor bargaining position. With hat in hand he's reaching for money.
So, where are we today-
He has equipment that's worth millions ( worth means nothing, it's what ya get when you sell it.) They have "THE" best re-sale company on the planet, who sent in 25 employees (one was a political favor) to sell off stuff EM doesn't need.
So where does this international co put it up for sale- EBAy (lol) by a seller with less than 100 transactions most of sales thus far for under $500. Hummmm
For the premier company with international contacts I thought they had the big stuff all lined up with buyers.
Maybe it's me, which it usually is, but if I were the procurement officer of a large company that uses this stuff, why would i purchase a "used" whatever it is.
And finally, why is it important whose name is on the purchase agreement? Why does EM care who shows up to buy the unit?? They will sell the product at a price they established, and see their profit. If someone or a company wanted to put down deposits for 1000 units, what's the downside for EM-?? Up until 3 days ago there might have been investors who saw an opportunity to re-sell them as new, untitled units.
We are a drop in the ocean of car buyers, and a very small minority of reservationists in our little world here
Sharing the love and pain of this project is healthy, and I continue to hope. But as someone else posted I ain't wearing my "T" anymore.

Thanks for you insight...well written!
