No, I never reached that level. You see I was a late bloomer. Here I am running away from home at age 39. LOL

I like my cars a bit on the raw side, where I can hear the engine, feel the road, and smell fumes occasionally.

I used to enjoy the unique sounds and smells of a sports car on a chilly fall morning, tearing through a shade-dappled two-lane to the rhythm of clattering tappets, the howl of a snarling exhaust, and the faint scent of Castrol . . . and I supposed I still do. But for long-distance touring, age has caught up with me a bit, making a leather-lined cocoon with heated seats a little more appealing.

Here's hoping a properly-optioned Elio will not only provide for my commute, but offer a solution as an suburban runabout and still return a few weekends of driving pleasure, if not a wholly sporting vehicle- an alternative to somewhat more civilized transit.
