So with the cut off date posted now is anyone going to bump their lower reservation up? I was planning on going to $500 this spring but don't really want to flush the money down the crapper...

If you feel that way, it'd be silly to "flush the money". Worst case, you'd have to wait a couple more years to get one.

EM has said they will give advanced notice of the date when they will cutoff first year reservations and /or changes in the bonuses .... if March 31st proves correct, much can happen in the next 6 weeks .... by then the number of reservations should be a good bit north of 40K .... my hunch is, understandably, there are a good many reservations holders sitting on the fence .... I suspect that developments between now and then will go a long way toward determining how many folks choose to upgrade so as to take advantage of the bonus ....

Hate to always bring you guys the bad news; but everyone always gets hyped for the smallest thing...

Here you can see they made the shirt a separate line item; so to put it simply... April 1st will be nothing less nothing more, just another iteration of a limited edition T-Shirt

Hightech is correct. I confirmed this with an EM person about an hour ago however was busy and could not post until now.

I was told, that just as in the past, EM would send out a dedicated notice for something as important as reservations coming to an end or the 50% bonus coming to an end, again.

Okay, I may have missed a thread that covered this, but when EM starts production in earnest, and Elios are flying out the factory door, does the "promotion" end? Or could someone that didn't have a all-in or want-in the entire time just plop down 1k, and get bumped up past the people that have had reservations (other than 1k all-in) all this time?
No. There will come a time when Elio will anounce a deadline for any reservations and upgrades. When that date arrives, every single reservationist (even the $100 I-Want-In) will be assigned a spot in line. Obviously, at that point, the $1000 All-In reservationists will be at the head of the line. However, everyone else will then know their spot in line. Elio may not "close" reservations but may just cut off the "first year of production" guarantee and change to a "second year guarantee" or some such. I don't see any logic in stopping reservations altogether. The promotion was to get people to reserve an Elio which shows a level of public interest that helps drive supplier and financial backer participation. The promotion will end before Elios start being produced.

When it comes down to it, it isn't fair to reward those who risked almost nothing to put down $1,000 the day before production started when there are people who backed Elio for years.
